Working for foreign company from home. Tax?

Hi, I have regular employment here in the UK and work 32.5 hours a week in school.
I also do TEFL work but the previous companies I've worked for had offices in the UK and I was paid through PAYE.
I've just started teaching some lessons with a company in Taiwan. It's just for a couple of hours a week online and I'll be paid in USD.

I don't have any minimum hours and can choose how much I work on their platform.
So I'm wondering how I go about declaring tax on this income. Would I need to file a tax return for self employment even though I'll be working for a company?
I've never had to file for my own taxes so wondering when I'd have to do this by if I've just started.
Am I classed as employed or self employed?

Any advice appreciated.

The terms of engagement (own hours, no minimum hours) do not sound like employment, which is good because if it was, the company would have to administer UK PAYE. So you would declare this income yourself via self assessment.

Thanks April. I noticed there's a 'foreign income' section. I wonder if it would go under that?

No it would not be classed as foreign income. You have generated this income from work you have conducted here in the UK. Your location is the relevant one when it comes to income derived from employment / self employment.

Foreign income would be if say you owned assets / investments overseas that generated income.

I used to work for a company based abroad. You have to fill in self assessment based on the converted USD to GBP you are paid. You can claim various allowances for home working etc if you are not doing that already. Also, the cost of an accountant is tax deductible I believe so worth finding someone to fill the forms in for you if you are uncertain.
