Does anyone still work from home??
Do you enjoy it or would you rather be in the office??
Many thanks !

Don't enjoy wfh as such but have got used to it and some elements are better. I have the option of going into the office if I want to but rarely do - mainly because of the loss of time and cost of petrol etc. Tbf when I do go in I spend half the time catching up with people which is nice but nit hugely beneficial for work purposes.

Loving all the responses, so many pros and cons for being at home and the office! I am 50/50 I love it some days and other days dislike it a lot! I do have the option to go back to the office but feel anxious because half my team left and I haven't met the newbies yet! So I will feel like the new girl lmao!

Still working from home, still loving it. I've got a new boss who tried to get us all back to an office despite 60% of us living more than 2 hours away. And we were all hired during covid, so it's not like we all moved far away on purpose. Unsurprisingly, it did not go down well. We have all threatened to resign if he goes ahead with his plan, so we shall see. I don't mind the occasional in person meeting or workday, but I would never ever work in an office again for the majority of my time.

Love it!!! I don't see the point in being forced to go into the office if you are perfectly fine to do the same work from home?!?

What was reasons for dragging you all
Back if you were getting on fine at home?

Just because they can!!!!

Large corporation, they rent / own multiple buildings across the UK and don't like to see them empty / under utilised.
We go in for team meetings, training etc of course and that is expected but for day to day work they insist on min 2-days a week (with the threat to increase it or do away with WFH completely)
As I say, some it suits but for most of us it is an unnecessary slog into the office. All it did for me was prove that I just don't need it anymore. 😁

Yep work from home full time - do I enjoy it? I have an amazing work life balance as can shove on a bit of washing, have a delivery, walk dog at lunch time, also do school run

but I do feel a bit isolated at time, but not having the stress of having to get back in time for school club collection before they close is priceless. So it’s the weigh up between benefits

Bigpinkslippers · 18/08/2022 20:11

Hate it that much I've found a new job which is hybrid rather than 100% wfh

Violetparis · 18/08/2022 20:17

Yes I work from home apart from one day every 2 months when we have to go in for a team day. Not enjoying WFH, bored and miss the social interaction and just generally being out and about. Think I am in a minority though.

FizzyStream · 18/08/2022 20:23

I work two days at home, two in the office and have one day off. It's ideal tbh but I'm starting a new job in a month where I'll have to be in the office every day at least to start with. I'd prefer to have one day at home. It's quieter with less interruptions.

AhaLyn · 18/08/2022 21:08

I don’t like it. No networking, no culture or connection to the organisation (public service) unprofessional people going to zoom meetings in holey t shirts etc. I think it’s good for some people though, as this thread shows.

whatever1980 · 18/08/2022 21:12

I like the flexibility of going into the office if I want to (I never need to) or choosing to wfh that day or go into the office in the morning and home in the afternoon.

Offices are like Marie Celeste these days so no socialisation generally.

If more people are in it's not great either as traditionally meetings would've been in meeting rooms face to face but they're all on zoom or teams now. Having a number of people all on teams meetings at same time is inconvenient and distracting

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/08/2022 21:59

We do 3 days in the office and two at home. I think it's perfect although the office feels really loud sometimes and I want to strangle a couple of colleagues who chat about crap all day long Grin
