WWYD? Working pattern

Oops I've been trying to post this in flexible jobs by accident, hope it doesn't now appear here 3 times!

Meant for back to work... WWYD with this choice of working pattern?

Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Or
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

DH works weekends and his week days off change every week so difficult to factor that in.

Like the idea of a block in and a block off, but 4 days with the kids could be intense on my own and 3 days working might feel just as intense!

Is Monday, Wednesday, Friday too in and out?

And also thinking about what routine the kids will adapt best to with nursery. Age 1 & 4.

I'd go for the Tues, Weds, Thurs pattern personally, Fridays are quiet days in most offices so you won't miss much, it's good to not work a Monday because of bank holidays (optimises your bookable leave) and personally I prefer blocks of time rather than in and out, think your kids will probably do better with three days in a row in nursery than chopping and changing although either is likely fine for them....

I have worked all sorts of p/t patterns over the last 14 years.

Do other people rely on your presence to keep work on track? Eg, I work very closely with Project Managers( they need my input to keep a project (public infrastructure construction) on track and I found that 3 consecutive days on/2 consecutive days off was too long for the pace of the type of work I do.

Because DM lived 250 miles away when the dc were preschool age, I wanted 4 days off in a block to visit her for a long weekend. This became irrelevant after DC1 started school.

Wed-Fri didn't work well. No one liked that nothing that involved me couldn't happed until half way through the week.

Tue-Thur worked better.

Tue, Wed, Fri worked best. Friday is a nice quiet day, which gave me a chance to catch up on things.

Not working Mondays puts me at a big advantage when it comes to how we calculate p/t time off for bank holidays.
