Person 2 could have had a skin cancer cut off with no further treatment 45yrs ago for all we know. Or they could have had bowel cancer 3yrs ago, brutal chemo and radio therapy and have ongoing issues with a stoma.

We don't know because OP is drip feeding.

cushioncovers · 05/08/2022 18:06

so are you person 2 op?

exnewwifeproblems · 05/08/2022 18:10

We don't have enough information to say.

dammit88 · 05/08/2022 18:15

Based on the limited info person 2 would be more of a concern to me.

This is such a typical MN thread. Let's rush to judgement about something we know absolutely nothing about, and in the absence of facts, let's make them up. It is entirely irrelevant what we think. Both people - regardless of contrary opinions - have some protection under the Equality Act. Beyond that there is no information about personal health or circumstances, nothing about the employer or their policies, or anything relevant to, well actually, anything at all.

Why not throw in the "fact" that person 1 is lying through their teeth, had two jobs on the side and spent for months on the beach in Aruba? And person 2 had invasive breast cancer and had struggled to work every day because they needed work as an indicator of normalcy?

This thread is indicative of all those awful judgemental conversations in dark corners at the office about who deserves to be off work sick.

Why are you comparing them?

Neither is 'worse'. They are just two individuals, both with health issues requiring leave.
