I simply cant afford to live on my pay.
It's hard to decide what to do. I earn 18.500 per yr after it's been pro rated . I do an adhoc job in some Saturday but would most likely have to work every sat or at least 3 out of 4 to make it work .
I am looking at entry level roles some of which start at 20.000 which isn't great as I earn more then that working at school and having school holidays off ..

I could get an evening job in care for 3 hours 2 nights a week but that would limit time I get to see people .
So confused what have other people done in similar situations?
Thanks

Have you only ever worked as a TA? I became a TA after working in office roles. About 8 years later I returned to the admin world. I recently started work in a SEND office and was able to point out my previous experience working with children with special needs to show that I'd fit the criteria.

Have you looked at vacancies? TA roles can be so varied that you might be able to market yourself in a way that gets you into a completely different job. Have a look at local vacancies to see what they're looking for in terms of skills/experience.

@AngelSings .Only been a Ta for a year . Before then various care jobs so I have a wide range of skills .Would love to do family support but its providing very difficult to get into .
The role I have is in a SEN school so is higher pay then a state school so other roles will give me less money.
A few agencies have put me forward for adim roles and I have a cv review on monday .
I have done some online courses and am trying to get volunteering roles to improve skills.
Will Just need to keep going.

What about a job as a nanny? They can earn way more than a TA and you can use your skills from the classroom.

@AngelSings
Thanks for the kind words .I have a 3rd interview for a admin role that will use all my skill set on Tuesday followed by a first interview for another admin job later on in the afternoon. The first job would be a 4.5k annual pay rise but more as current role is only paid 46wks of the year.

I'm leaving education and moving to a civil service type admin role, I lose the school holidays but my DD is older now and is happy to go out in evenings instead. I'll be working flexi with 2 days in the office and 3 days at home with better promotional prospects and I get my evenings back. I'll get my 'fix' of working with teenagers which is the part of my job I love by volunteering at DDs extra curricular clubs.

Im with you OP.
The is dire for a TA and unsustainable ( unless you have a partner/husband in a well paid job) .

I'm also looking for a new role, but doing what, god alone knows!
