Any tips, hints, YouTube videos podcasts etc pls?

Just been knocked back for a managerial job I had been covering previously for a few months. I have the degree, masters, management experience and meet all the criteria but fluffed the interview. My confidence is at rock bottom but I need to come back stronger and give my head a wobble.

I just cannot seem to get the ticks at interviews it's like all the golden words they are looking for I'm completely not getting-what is the secret please?

Any help would be gratefully received

My main tip is to make sure you give the interviewers enough of a narrative when using your examples when I interview I find people assume a lot of information/acronyms and the size/scale of the work that you have done.

Look at the person specification and map out an example for each one.

Using the STAR technique after you give the context (situation) and Task focus on what you did specifically use I not we when giving answers and talk about results honestly in the Result bit. I've been more impressed by interviewees being circumspect about the bits that didn't work and what the learned.

Preparation & practice is key.

Know, & print out,the job description and think about what you have done & achieved fits the requirements and structure using STAR. I have used notes (usually colour coded) as well, both for prompts for me and questions for them. Keep everything positive.

Loads of you tube, podcasts out there, just google.
