Do I need to formally retract my resignation?

I posted a full thread about my situation on here a few days ago but I just wanted to ask a simple question so thought it would be best to make a new thread.

I sent in my resignation by email to my manager and HR whilst I was on sick leave due to my mental health. My manager replied by asking for a meeting to suggest potential changes to my role to allow me to stay. The meeting was helpful and we discussed some changes to my role, the meeting ended with my manager saying he would discuss whether those changes are possible with the head of department. My manager has now told me that the head of department has agreed to those changes to my role. HR was also in the meeting and we will be making a plan for a phased return for me after my sick leave.

Reading between the lines I think my manager knows I now feel ok to stay, but I'm wondering if I need to formally retract my resignation and, if so, how? I am definitely overthinking things but I think I'm worried in case all of these role changes and phased return plans are just for during my notice period before I leave? Do I need to formally retract my resignation?

Technically you remain resigned until the employer says that they are allowing you to retract it. So in the circumstances I would drop your manager an email saying that XXX has been agreed and YYYY will happen so you would now like to retract your resignation on the basis that ZZZZ and can she confirm this is agreed? Employees cannot unilaterally withdraw their resignation once submitted, so I would err on the side of being formally correct and getting them to say it.
