I'm a single mum working a really stressful job! Once rent, bills, child care has been taking into consideration in left with very little! Juggling it all, is affecting my mental health and I don't think my company would be willing for me to be flexible as the team is so streamlined there is no room for part timers, if that makes sense.

My parents live abroad and have a small flat in the U.K.! They have kindly offered it to me free of charge to allow me to have some breathing space, find a part time job/different job and asses my options! I'm very fortunate, but am so nervous to quit my job and do this in case I don't find anything else... or am out of work (I will still need money to live on)!! My job is in the creative industry and I've worked hard to get where I am but the constant pressure and stress for not much gain, and not spending much time with my toddler is taking its toll on me! Hoping for some sound advice, different opinions etc! I don't want to give up my career... I've always worked hard but worried I'm going to drop all the plates I'm spinning at the moment.

Couldn't you move into the flat and then assess from there onwards? You don't need to quit your job straight away. Maybe after you've got the security of the flat, you may find yourself thinking a bit more logically to stop you from making any big decisions you will regret.

You can start looking for other roles in the meantime though. The last thing you want is to be out of work whilst having to provide for your kids.

Speaking from experience, think twice before quitting a job where you've worked hard to rise up the ranks. It's not always easy to walk straight back into another similar role unless you are in particular industries.

@User1406 great advice thank you! I guess at least that way I have a bit more money to save. Really helpful, and that's also my worry that I would regret it in the long run!
