Wondering if anyone has any advice, I was made redundant from the NHS in 2021 after 20 years and have recently got another job within the NHS at a different Trust. Will I be entitled to an higher annual leave entitlement because of my reckonable service or do this not count because of redundancy?

My previous service was taken into account.

You need to ask hr but usually they add up any previous nhs employment even if there’s gaps.

You can have a gap of up to two years and it still be continuous service.
However make sure you check the terms of your redundancy as some stipulate a period of time you must not work for the NHS on a permanent contract or you have to pay back the redundancy payment.

Yes all your previous years will be counted with regards to annual leave entitlement. I've recently returned after a 5 year break ( I went to work in the private sector) and my annual leave has resumed at top 10+ years of 33 days per year plus bank holidays.

But if you’re made redundant from the NHS doesn’t it mean everything gets reset back to zero? That’s what we were told when we were going through the consultation for the redundancy. But you know what the NHS is like you, never really know if you’re being told the correct thing!!!

It dors fir some things (IE. Sickness entitlement) but not holiday entitlement. Once you've earned that, you've earned it forever.

There may be a clause if you are reemployed within a certain period your continuity of service resumes.

Hello,
I have been with the nhs since 2014, up until July 2022 where I went to work somewhere else until jan 2023 where I am back at the nhs in my old job. Will I be entiltied to Nhs occ pay or not? Or when would I be entitled to it as me and my partner want to ttc soon but want the occ maternity pay :)
