Can you get the "ick" for your job? Is there a cure?

You know how in a relationship you can get the "ick" and everything your partner does just annoys the hell out of you and makes you feel uncomfortable at the slightest of things?

I have that about my job.

I'm trying to shake it because I'm good at it and I get paid a decent wage but I just cannot be arsed with it anymore. I dread going in. Not for any specific reason just don't want to be in that building with those people.

Is there a cure? Or is it terminal?

I've had this before and ultimately left. Depends how long you've been there really. If it's been a while, it might be a sign that it's time to start afresh somewhere else and try something new.

Just think, you spend most of your time at work. You have to be somewhat happy. If you're dreading going in, I'd start exploring other avenues. Sometimes going to interviews can be a great start as you'll either get the kick you need to make that move, or you'll realise that you're actually much more comfortable where you already are.

I live in a very small place with very few other options. If I left it would be to set up my own business I think. I'm a bit feart to do that what with the cost of living and so on. But as you say it's where I spend a lot of my life.

Are there things I can do to snap out of this?

There's a department lunch next week and I already thinking up ways of getting out of going. I need to get a grip.

I've never found a way back previously but am currently giving it a go 😀
