I'm advertising it

It seems such a long way for a minimum wage job

Am I being daft? or is it just too far?

no i wouldn't. not even if i could get there for free.there aren't enough hours in the day as it is.

Ds1 does 60 miles a day as he does split shifts as a chef. BUT he is definatly on more than minimum wage. Dependent on your cars fuel consumption, you could be paying out up to half your wages in petrol each week.

tbh it depends why she would want the job, it could be she needs employment expereince, or to amke friends, or to get out of the house. You may be rejecting a gem for reasons which are none of your business, other than does she have the right skills, attitude, reliable, noe of which relies on transport or commute

perhaps she can even type better than me!

I've done a 10-mile round trip to a company only to find the agency had sent two of us through some mistake and the other girl got the gig snce she had been asked first . To rub salt in the wound, she got a permanent job a few days later and I was asked back to fill the position!! Needless to say I was not impressed but needs must.

30 miles on empty roads wouldn't be as fuel-consuming as start-stop traffic in a city would be. Have you interviewed her yet?

NewYearNewStart · 15/01/2008 23:50

I'm not sure I would but I wouldn't rule it out on circs.

You don't actually know her circs so if I were you i'd interview away.
