I work in private healthcare( not nursing) and there is an nhs job going that I'm interested in.
You might all think I'm mad as there are of course some better things about private healthcare such as better pay and 9-5 shifts.
However my boss is awful to me. So far she has criticised my work in front of the whe office.
Told me that as a recent graduate i should be better than those with 20 years experience.
Told me that my dd is probably getting panic attacks as im "stressy."
Blames me for breaking a machine when it had nothing to do with me ( it was the computer system update).
Swapped shifts with me so i worked 19 days straight
And she sat too close to me in a recent meeting.

If i go to nhs i might get lower pay BUT i will get more pension, sick pay and i might rise up the bands quicker..

I am right to want to jump ship aren't I? Trouble is I've only been there 5 months.

It sounds like a nightmare situation. No wonder you’re unhappy.

I can totally understand you wanting to leave tbh. is there anyone above your manager you could approach about the situation first?

I have had a meeting with HR but i didn't trust them...implied I didn't get on with her.

I overheard her tell another colleague that im a nightmare.

I would leave if I were you. If the HR department are unwilling to handle the situation professionally, there is no hope.

However, leaving your current place and going for this other job are 2 separate issues.

100% you should leave.
But as to whether you leave them to work in the NHS is something you need to weigh up. You could always look for another private healthcare job.
If the NHS will pay you less, weigh up whether you can manage on that salary with a DD.

The last thing you want is to leave one bad job for another. I am not a healthcare professional but I imagine that the environment in private healthcare is going to be so different from working in the NHS. It may be a great change, or you may not like it.

Either way, please make plans to leave your current position. It sounds toxic.

I would leave if I were you OP. Hopefully things will be better for you here before you can switch elsewhere if required.

Definitely time to move off if you have no faith in HR. You will be so much happier somewhere else by the sounds of it.

Such a shame as most of the staff are lovely. But they don't manage me.
