How do you get over nerves (in relation to an interview?)
I've been approached by a recruiter for a job that could really change my life for the better and I'm through to the last stage of interview which involves visiting the company's offices in London.
Whilst there I'm required to do a presentation (the slot for this is 30 minutes!) about my first 90 days at the company and what I expect to do/achieve/overcome. This is then immediately followed by another interview (I've already had one on zoom that lasted an hour) which has been allocated a further 60 minutes.
I've had little time to prepare but in a way this may be a good thing as I can easily talk myself out of it because of nerves. I've basically got 1 day in which to put this presentation together, decide what I'm going to do/say and practice it.
Presenting isn't my strong point. My voice shakes, my mouth goes incredibly dry, and my skin goes blotchy. The thought of travelling to London (I'm based in the North), meeting a team of strangers, and presenting to the board is really overwhelming and whilst I believe I have the skills, experience and aptitude for the role I feel like I could easily talk myself out of going purely because of the fear or presenting to them and a dry mouth etc
How can I overcome this? I can do this job I know I can but the thought of this last interview stage makes me feel sick.
Tia for any advice
