Hi there I wonder if someone can advise on this. My DH is applying for a job in probation. The instruction is to remove any reference to personal info so that a blind application form is submitted. So names, dates, gender etc. I get that.
But they also ask for any dates and institutional names to be removed. So you can put your qualifications in but not the dates or who they are from. Why then ask for the certificates to be scanned in. Also it asks for 5 GCSEs. Not equivalents. In itself that is ageist, surely, as we are too ancient for those and did GCES! Just wondering how precise to be really. Thanks in advance.

The qualifications are to prove what you've stated, and won't be forwarded to the short listers. The redacted cv and supporting letter or statement only will go to the shortlisters. Make sure that all essential and desired criteria is addressed, it's a tick boxing exercise.
If olevels etc, state in brackets equivalent to GCSE grade A-C etc. In case you get someone who doesn't have a clue!

Thanks. I got it slightly wrong in that it asks for all references to age etc to be removed. But the employment dates and qualification dates would give a huge clue to his age surely? So should they be removed? Thanks for your help!

You would have thought so.

And they will need to have these if offered as you couldn't ensure there were no unexplained gaps in his record, which would be required for the clearance.
