Anyone got the job ick?

So I started a new job in the last 12 months.

I really like it, I like the organization, my team etc but there are a couple of things around terms and conditions that have really put me off.

I can't be specific as I've talked to people about it and it'll be really obvious it's me. I'm sorry if that's frustrating.

The issue will affect me and could potentially cost me some money in the short term.

I'm pissed off about it and it is changing my view of the organization and the job. I don't want to suffer a detriment and I feel something is unfair.
I have been used to public sector conditions before and the difference is stark.

I guess my question is, can I get past this when there is so much else that is good and so much better than my previous role?

I feel angry and have been browsing jobs but don't want to make a knee jerk change because I'm in a strop.
I'm not an impulsive person but I guess when I decide I want to leave, my view hasn't changed previously even if I've taken my time with the move.

Can you come back from the work ick?

Are the Ts and Cs something that you could change?

Have you written down all the pros and cons of your current job/ employer plus the benefits you might have only noticed since you started, plus things that you'd like to change?

Hard to say anything useful as you haven't provided enough information OP.

I agree
No idea what the issue is so it’s hard to comment

I'm sorry but I can't be more specific and I'm not asking for advice about the issue itself so I don't need to be!

My question was about getting past this feeling of 'fuck it all' and still enjoying all the many good bits about the job.

I get it's annoying when someone is vague but I do have a very good reason.

I did think about this and then forgot so thank you. There are honestly so many positives but this is a sticking point.

It's something fairly fundamental in their employee T&C so not sure I could change it alone but I am wondering whether to challenge further whilst not really feeling confident enough to put myself in the firing line if it gets tricky. I've done that before and often the people who say they're with you, aren't when it comes to it!

Well only you can decide if it's worth getting past this one thing. If you have decided that then all you can do is remind yourself of why you made that choice, focus on the good stuff and move on. It takes repetition and focus and time.

If you're still greeting about it in 6 months then maybe the decision could be revisited.

I'm guessing you were previously public sector and now you are not?

I'm kind of in a similar position - pension is not as good, annual leave and sick pay not as good. No trade union recognition.

But the job is more enjoyable and the flexibility is much better.

So you need to decide what is more important to you.
