Should I become an SNA

I took voluntary redundancy from a corporate job that paid nicely.

I have since worked 20 hours per week as a contractor for small companies. Less money but enough to make the juggling worthwhile. I didn't like being a contractor because you are always on the "outside" but it worked while my son went through the transition into school, he needed a lot of support but I got him there!

Now I need to find a prober job when my final child starts school in September, I really want to be an SNA. I read that it is super competitive to get into and it isn't like my background is ideal. Any tips?

People use different terms in different parts of the country .... is SNA, Special Needs Assistant ?

Looking at it with your corporate head on....... what skills do you have? Experience? Qualifications ?

To be honest if I seen my cv I would reject it because I would think that I didn't have the right experience. If you seen me helping a 5 year old read though, I would probably hire me.

If it was a job I could get by networking I think I would be fine... but I don't think it is, it seems really cumbersome to be hired. I'm happy to pay for the 8 week course myself. I would even do free work experience if I knew how to navigate the system
