Where to get a WFH job!

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Basically although I hate the idea I need a job I can do from home.
I’m having issues getting DC into school (it’s being resolved) but it means I’ve had to leave my current role because my attendance has been so poor.

It was just an admin role but school hours, something like 25 hours a week would be good. It means on days we have issues I can still work. I’m not even sure if anyone wants anyone like that. I’d even be happy doing data entry.

Try NFU Mutual, they have vacancies in my area 9:30-2:30 M-F wfh

Have you contacted any recruitment agencies in your area?

Have you looked for any online on sites like indeed etc?

FridayBluezzzz · 18/03/2022 17:57

Yes I’ve looked on indeed and the agencies round me have been incredibly useless, I’ve been registered with a few of them for years and they frequently chase me for full time positions.
I live in a small town so it’s always been a bit harder to find things.

Have you tried LinkedIn?
Civil Service can often offer hybrid working if not full wfh?

BottleOfSun · 18/03/2022 18:40

Customer service agents? A lot of insurance/energy companies wfh.

SilverHairedCat · 18/03/2022 18:42

Civil Service Jobs website.

RedskyThisNight · 18/03/2022 18:54

Does it have to be school hours? My company has happily embraced "flexible working" and just about everyone with school age children pops out for 30 minutes to pick them up and then returns to work at home.

dipdye · 20/03/2022 01:50

Get on LinkedIn

The only way

FridayBluezzzz · 20/03/2022 09:13

Other child has activity out of school, I don’t want them to suffer from what’s been going on so need to be free after 3pm.

I deleted LinkedIn years ago as I didn’t see the point of it. I had a niche career where I was made redundant 5 years ago and it was totally pointless for that.

Well, a lot of places are now using LinkedIn to advertise for roles & you can use the filters to search for part-time hours, plus many say if they're on-site, hybrid or remote.

Whiskersonkittens21 · 21/03/2022 08:07

Try Sensee, they allow you to choose your own hours and are permanent WFH. You act as a triage service for other companies like Bupa. It's telephone based.

www.gov.uk
1000s of jobs advertised, you can filter to your location, job title

Hi OP I have been searching and applying for WFH jobs on and off since 2020 and can't find anything, or I don't have the right equipment:

I just looked at them, unfortunately you need a PC of a certain spec, a corded telephone and a headset! I have none of those things.

It's a real gripe that these companies expect you to provide everything, you wouldn't be expected to buy your own PC in an office job?!

sweepeep · 01/04/2022 11:04

Surely these jobs are like gold dust...wouldn't we all love a job where we can wfh and be free after 3!

Chocolateporridge · 01/04/2022 15:27

Following with interest.
I'd love a job that I can do from home but only for around 7 to 10 hours a week and I've no idea where to start looking!

There are still jobs available. I work school hours only.

But you'll sign a contract or agree to policies stating that you will have appropriate childcare in place.

Not knowing your situation, this doesn't sound like soemthing you could state and could then end up in the same situation...
