Can an Employer not have it in them to withdraw a job offer?

Hello,

Just wonder if anyone from HR does come on these forums?

It is starting to occur to me an Employer I've had a job offer with and that has taken quite some time to start as level entry, are perhaps, hoping that I'll withdraw first - does and can this happen?

I've reached a point where I've queried why a contract they wish me to sign reads: Your normal place of work is xyz & actual lists employers address only which to me doesn't signal I am a home/remote worker and there is absolutely no other line about me being remote. (had no response just yet) the only thing I would have in any proof of home working is when I was asked to confirm internet speed and a Manager wrote an email about the situation 'changing'.

Please note the home working isn't so much covid related and they decided nearly a month on after interview that they couldn't offer hybrid/induct me in the workplace - it was said in future they wanted ability to recruit nationwide - but how can they issue a contract which to my mind even as a fairly local person to the workplace - doesn't protect as a home worker.

It is starting to make me wonder, I got offered the job prior to new year when they went on about how that would make my new years eve, at the time I was unemployed, then the first dbs they interrupted - I am just curious can companies hope the applicant bottles out?

If you haven't signed a contract that's probably why it's taking so long to progress things... I am a homeworker and my contract reads something along the lines of "your normal place of work is your home address"

I think you posted about this the other day - did you contact the organisation and ask them to amend the contract before you signed it?

Feel like I've totally overthought this.
They've now apologised and said they didn't realise the contract hadn't revised about home working.

Anyway for the joy of home working and what sounds like recruitment on mass, I am now informed about a team building event and a 1 nighter away from home, which is my idea of hell and making me more anxious with everything personal I got going on so glad I did bring it up in someways.

And my current team leader has announced their resignation today unexpectedly which makes staying in my current job just a little more practical. Ahhh

Sorry for my massive overthinking.

Easily done, this overthinking malarky.

Hope that your new job goes well.
