I work in hospitality, we are very quiet currently and my boss constantly asks me to take holiday instead of a shift and now ive used up all my holiday.

Im currenttly in the weeks where maternity pay is based off. In the maternity pack i was sent it says i need to be earning atleast £150 a week to be entititled to maternity pay. Next week my boss has said he can only offer me 1 shift as we are very quiet, meaning i will be earning less than £150. Will this mean i will not be entitled to maternity pay now or do i hope it averages out from the weeks where i worked 4 days the two weeks over half term.

If if does mean im not entitled im just going to quit work, im fed up of my work collegues making comments when i cant do somthing due to beeing pregant and my boss doing nothing and also made comments too.

It's an average of £120 per week you need to earn in weeks 17-25 of pregnancy to qualify for SMP.

If you don't qualify for SMP you can apply for Maternity Allowance. You could then choose payslips that have your highest earnings for your claim. MA is the same amount as SMP but just doesn't have the 6 weeks at 90% at the start.

My company maternity pack says £150 a week?

Ive been working/booking holiday 3-4 shifts each week so earning between £228-£304 each week. Currently 21 weeks. Next week i will only earn about £80, this will mess with my averages alot? I have no holiday left to top up😔 im so annoyed as theres other people on 0 hours beeing given 5 shifts and im not beeing fussy on my availablity, ive said im available all shifts.

I dont earn enough to pay tax every payslip so i thought i wouldnt be entitled to maternity allowance.

It's definitely £120 on the government website
Do you think they are penalising you while you are pregnant and not giving you shifts on purpose?

Maternity allowance has nothing to do with the tax you pay.

Oh defently, im allways the first to be sent home early when quiet, ever since i announced i was pregnant and like i said others are still beeing given 5 shifts and ive been made to use holiday to top up my pay since january and now its all used up, surely its someone elses turn to lose a shift or use holiday. Not the first time ive argued my hours recently as i only just make ends meet with paying childcare for my first and knows it annoys me beeing sent home early when he knows i pay childcare when im at work and i dont get refunded hours for picking up early. My manager defenetly has his favoutes and ive been far from one since i told him im pregnant.

I work in hospitality as a Chef, I have recently found out I'm pregnant nearly 8 weeks now. The managers there have never had to deal with an employee that has become pregnant before and are taking an interest.
Obviously being a chef is a hard job, long hours standing, lifting, carrying, working in a stressful environment. They have made it clear if I don't feel well or need to sit down I can do whenever as they are thinking of whats best for me which I do appreciate.
My manager sat me down and asked me to think about what I want to do when I get further along into the pregnancy as I don't want to loose too many hours and miss out on a decent maternity pay.
Has anyone been in the same situation and has got any insight of what might be the best option?

Thanks x
