I have tried to find out the answer to this myself but am still unsure. I believe that certain managers have discussed me in an unprofessional sense via email. Am I entitled to those emails under a DSAR? Or does it not count as 'personal data'? By 'unprofessional sense' I mean slagging me off in general terms.

Yes you can get that information in a Dsar and I have heard grievances where this has been part of the evidence.

How did you find out, did you see the emails? Did someone tell you? This is useful if you wanted to make a complaint.

Before you go down that road work out what you want to achieve if you get the information.

I’m a solicitor.

It is personal information and potentially disclosable but if it also contains their personal information it won’t be provided.

Eg if Samantha’s view of you is that you’re a silly cow then that won’t be disclosed because it contains Samantha’s personal information (her opinion of you)

Thanks for all replies. Someone tipped me off but they are of a 'Samantha is a silly cow' nature. I think I'll still request and see what they do?

I think that they could just inform you that your name (the only personal data here) was found in emails - someone else’s opinion of you is not your personal data, so they are not obliged to disclose the full email.

Ah, thank you. That in itself would be something. Thanks again for all help; going through something pretty stressful atm and the help is much appreciated.
