Wage slip

My employer has signed up to Sage to do our wages and we access our wage slips online. I checked mine today but it has no information about how many hours I have been paid for and how much is SSP. Does anyone know if this is legal? Surely this information should be provided?

Payslips should show the number of hours worked only if you're paid an hourly wage, or your pay varies depending on the number of hours worked (i.e if it ratchets up if you work over a 10 hour day).

SSP is either £96.35 a week or more if your employer pays more than that - do you know which is the case?

With Sage the employer chooses what to have in the pay categories. If you are on a salary then your wage slip will just say Salary and an amount. Hourly paid workers have to have their payslip itemised.

Our salaried workers get full contractual sick pay so we don't itemise SSP. Our hourly workers get more than SSP but not full pay and have the waiting days so I do itemise sick pay separately for them.

From gov.uk

Your payslip must show:

your earnings before and after any deductions

the amount of any deductions that may change each time you’re paid, for example tax and National Insurance

the number of hours you worked, if your pay varies depending on time worked

I'm a carer and I'm paid per visit, I get just over £10 p.h. but if the visit is for 15 minutes thats what I get paid for. Visits vary, 15, 20, 30, 60 or 120 mins. I normally record my visits but leading up to going off sick I wasn't up to accurate record keeping. Also, mileage is paid but no breakdown so I have to work out every months mileage to claim the difference from the gov. That's going to take hours but I need the money.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry I didn't reply sooner but today is the 2nd day in about a month I think I'm feeling better! Thanks. I'm grateful.
