I am currently on maternity leave which ends mid April after which I have a lot of accrued leave so will either take it as a lump or over several weeks.

I've applied for 4 jobs that would be a promotion for me.

Ive just had an informal chat with the recruiting manager of one of the roles I applied for. I couldn't speak to her before applying as she was on annual leave. She rang as she saw my application and wanted to discuss practicalities. She basically said other candidates could start ASAP and wouldn't require flexible working and that she would look more favourable on them. She would still interview me but basically would prefer others. It feels very dodgy. When I've recruited people I normally score on skills performance and then have the practicalities chat with the successful candidate.

It was only a temporary role so can understand that they want someone sooner but standard notice period is 3 months here.

I'm not too upset as I have an interview for one of the permanent roles but feel a bit peeved that's her attitude.

I've mentioned it to a senior colleague as they encouraged me to apply as thought I was a good fit.

Ultimately not sure I would want the role now as not sure she would be supportive if one of the kids was unwell and I needed to juggle priorities

Not sure what the point of my post is but just wondered what others though
