My daughter applied for a job at our local hospital band 2. She was due to have an interview with them but two days before decided the job wasn't for her due to heavy lifting an cancelled.
She has now applied for another job band 3, it's a senior role of the job that she cancelled and still includes some heavy lifting.
I been in my job for over 30 years so have no interview experience but told her that I think she would have been better to apply for the band 2 and then in that interview discuss her concerns and chat about the band 3 (which was advertised at the same time) if that would be more suitable rather than cancel the interview.
I personally think it looks bad that she cancelled and has applied for a similar job but she thinks its fine.
Like I said I am out of touch so just wondered what other people thought.

Has whatever issue that's related to the heavy lifting, been resolved? I find it odd than she withdrew for band 2 then applied for band 3, especially when it sounds essentially the same.
But I wouldn't apply for job A and the discuss job B at the interview for job A.

I don't think it has been resolved I think she just cancelled.

I mean, has the issue with heavy lifting been resolved.
Let's say a pulled muscle prevented her form hevay lifting. Has that pulled muscle (etc) been resolved.

They (the interviewers) won’t even remember her name. I’m not being mean, they just won’t. If I were her I would go ahead with it. Why go for a band 2 when you can get a 3?

No the issue was that she doesn't want to do any heavy lifting 😖
