Me being a Whistle blower

What happens after i report it?

I've gotta meet up with my boss tmrw morning in a pub to write a statement of the letter that i handed in on my last day this week about what went on at work (in a private nursery) and why i left. The two staff were bullying the kids (in the babies room). I couldnt put up with it any longer. I didnt report it earlier cos i only started a few months ago so I'm the new staff and i would've of stood out like a sore thumb of who is whistle blowing cos there was only 2 or 3 of us in the 2 baby rooms.

I feel a little bit scared incase the two staff come looking for me and find out where i live???

I can’t really tell what has gone on from your post, although I think I saw a thread about a potential situation in a nursery a few days ago.

Who did you blow the whistle to? Did try ask for confidentiality? You say it was your last day but also refer to somebody as you boss - have you left or not? If you have left, why are you meeting up with the person that used to be your boss?

Are you still working there. If not do not agree to meet your old boss in the pub or make any statement. You have given your reason and your old boss needs to investigate this and speak to the other staff. You can call ACAS for advice but whistleblowers are protected from harrassment and if anyone comes after you then you call the police. If you do decide to meet with your old boss then take someone with you, have the meeting at a safe place, not a pub, and have it recorded.

If it’s a crime or regulatory issue report it to the police or relevant body. If it’s just that you didn’t like how the other employees were doing their job, the employer may or may not take any action.

The employer will investigate your concerns/ complaint.

Why do you think the staff will come looking for you? That would be a very extreme thing to happen in the circumstances.

If you think there is a genuine worry for the children you can report it to the care inspectorate

I would not be meeting your old boss anywhere.
You should report to CQC or whoever is in charge of nurseries and commun8cate only with them.
Hopefully you are in a union and have support from your rep who will advise you.
