What are everyone’s thoughts? Has anyone here done this? Is anyone here considering it? Has anyone done it and since left?

I've heard it is pretty tough going! I know someone who did it in Ireland and she had to work very long hours, but she loved it and ended up with a management post on a very good wage. This was over ten years ago though so may be different now. Have you been accepted? I know it used to be pretty competitive.

A friends son did it but dropped out as it was pretty intense apparently.
He went on the join the Fire Service so it’s not like he was workshy.
These graduate schemes can be really good though and a good start to your career

I suppose I’m ready for a challenge, but it’s good to hear real life reviews.

When you say you thinking about this, do you actually have an offer of a place?

I worked at an ALDI for three months fifteen years ago and left for a few reasons but mainly because I was sick of how understaffed we were. Three ppl to run a store, one of which was management who would stay in the office

I think staffing is better now. There was a girl mid twenties at the store on the management scheme. You'll have to work v hard but the rewards are good. Very early starts and weekends plus evenings. It can get stressful with customers moaning etc

The thing I hated the most other than working on the till as back then you had to work the change out in your head was putting the stock out first thing. Huge cages that had to be checked off, hundreds of vegetables. ALDI would purposely give you too much or too little to check you were checking it off correctly

Have a go, you can always leave if you don't like it but you'll work three times harder than Tesco, Sainsbury's etc as you have less staff but you get paid more for a reason
