Where do I stand on this? Today is day 5,so the earliest I'll be back in is Weds (if I test negative day 6 and ) and the latest is next Tuesday (when 10 days isolation are over).

I work in a therapeutic role within a special school so see the kids f2f. I don't really have anything to do at home but offered to WFH until I can go back. I could do some CPD that will benefit me and therefore my practice but boss is saying the school want specifics about what I'd be doing for them if I'm WFH. And I can't really do anything specific for the kids without being in school and having access to files.

I'm not sick and have told my boss I'm not sick. So presume I won't get sick pay. To make life more difficult,I work for a small company and I don't think there a HR dept. Where do I stand on this?

If you test postive you are sick. You just don't show any symptoms.

MintMatchmaker · 03/01/2022 18:13

You are sick. You are off work because you have an illness preventing you from being at work?

NotAnotherPushyMum · 03/01/2022 18:14

Yes, you get sick pay in those conditions.

If you're off because of covid and can't work from home then yes you should get sick pay

Would they rather you came in and gave it to the kids?

Lol,knowing the school, yes they would. I think it's the issue that I work for a company that is employed by the school. And if I don't go in,I'm not sure my company get paid by the school. Which isn't my issue, that's my company's issue. I still need paying.

You might only get statutory sick pay but it depends what your contract says about sick pay.

You might not feel sick, but you are still off sick as you’ve tested positive, so you should still be eligible for sick pay.

rosettesforjill · 03/01/2022 20:31

@wonderstuff123 are you employed by an agency? If so, it will be them in charge of your sick pay so not up to the school. It will likely be SSP but you will almost certainly be entitled to it.

SpringRainbow · 03/01/2022 20:38

Yes, according to this you should get sick pay

^If you cannot work because of coronavirus (COVID-19)
You could get SSP if you’re self-isolating because:

you or someone you live with has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19^
