and how you are finding it? For context I'm a sahm who hasn't been in work since 2020 and I haven't worked term time only before but will be needing to look for term time only work next year.

Thanks for all the responses everyone, I’ll be looking for a volunteer and/or work role (in schools) next September when my lo gets the 15 hours free childcare. I don’t have any special qualifications atm but am studying through the OU and will complete the first full year of a maths degree by the end of this academic year.

@MissMaple82

Can't imagine a term time only childminder would get any takers, most people are not working in schools or colleges and need childcare all year round.
All childminders near me offer term time only including my own, a couple of nurseries too.

Social worker with a charity... partner is a teacher.

Ah OK - I asked as if you had any science qualifications you could look at science technician jobs, although sometimes science assistant type jobs with on the job training come up. Also as previous posters have said some nurseries have term time only staff

I am a term time only childminder. Most of my parents work in education but also health care and use grandparents to fill the holidays. Grandparents are happy as see gc and still get cheap holidays as don't need to provide care all year! My customers love that I close in the holidays as that means they don't have to pay for care they don't need.

ASNA in Scotland (similar to TA). Pay is rubbish for what I do, but it's worth it to be able to spend every holiday with my children. The only time I require childcare is for inset days.

I worked term time only as a civil servant.

I'm a Dog Groomer, run my business myself. It's great as can take all the holidays although I will work a few days in the middle of Summer as 6 weeks would be too long for most dogs

TA

Pay is dire. I love the children. I love the staff . Parents are lovely too ❤️

The term-time only childminder my daughter went to is always fully booked up. All teachers.

I have a part time, term time worker in my civil service admin team. Depends on the role but it’s a matter of asking for the working pattern, we’re really flexible.
