Anxiety and work

I suffer from anxiety which I am not having treatment for after a cancer diagnosis. I don't struggle all the time just every so often it can affect my work.
Sometimes I find myself lacking confidence at work and struggle to engage in conversation with my colleagues. I also find noisy environments make it worse.
I haven't spoken to anyone at work about how I feel, I don't know if i should 😟

Is your line manager supportive? Given your diagnosis I think you should request an Occupational Health appointment to see if there is anything the workplace can offer, and also maybe speak to your GP to see if there is any treatment/counselling that you can access.

AIBU in thinking that it’s never ok to joke about or tell a colleague to “go Kill themselves”
I recently had this said to me, and when I pulled the person up on it I was told it was a joke and I should let it go.
But it wasn’t funny. Nobody was laughing.
I became quite upset and refused
To work in the same office as her for the rest
Of the day. However, my line manager said to me later that the person in question had spent a lot of time crying, it was a flippant comment and wasn’t intended to cause harm and we should start next week afresh.
But I think this is equal to some sort of misconduct, especially since I have not received an apology.

Hi OP, I'm sorry about your diagnosis - that's a lot to deal with, health wise and emotionally. Please please speak with your GP - medication can really help & I would encourage you to give it a try. It won't just go away by itself. xx
