No. That’s called ā€œrolled upā€ holiday pay, where the employer tells you they are paying you a bit more per hour and it includes holiday.

Holiday needs to be separate.

It's actually illegal now to do roll up holiday pay into basic pay, so they need to sort that. You should be paid a wage, and be accruing holiday based on working hours which you then take or get paid out (in the event you leave) :)

You need to write to your employer and ask them to clarify what your holiday pay entitlement is and when you can book to take that time.

Rolled up holiday pay is now illegal however lots still trying to get away with it.

When I used to employ casual staff I kept a tally of hours worked per month (it was usually 4-5 days per month). I then worked out their holiday pay entitlement using a percentage (HMRC used to have a handy calculator on their website but it's gone now) and paid it to them three times a year when there was no work available (Easter, August & Christmas)

Rolled up holiday pay is a bit of a funny one. I believe it was outlawed via a European court judgment but not actually put in to UK employment law. However the gov.uk non statutory guidance says that contracts including rolled up holiday pay must be re-negotiated.
