Tutoring - advice needed

I've been tutoring fairly informally for several years now, mostly for the dc of friends and family. I'm not a teacher, but have a masters in the subject area and I'm very familiar with the GCSE papers and answer schemes. People recommend me to others and say that their dc has improved, so I want to branch out now and advertise.
What 'rules' do you set for your tutees? In the past my dc have had tutors, ranging from quite laid back and informal PAYG, to block payment of 6 lessons in advance, non refundable. What is the norm? Do you 'drop' them if you feel they aren't making enough progress/putting in effort? (I feel really bad taking money if I feel it's not going to make a difference) Also how much do you charge? I'M currently charging £25 per 1.5 hours which is quite below market value. As I'm not a teacher I have imposter syndrome and not sure that I should be charging going rate?

Any advice appreciated.

Set goals

@languagelover96 how does that work? What if they don't achieve the goals?
