CCJ and working in a law firm??

Hello, is there any way around getting a job at a law firm and having a (satisfied) CCJ? What if HR say no? Is there anything that can be done to fight it?

I'm not sure if you can fight it, but I would tell them about it and make it clear that it was satisfied. Better that they hear it from you than find out through background checks!

Well it is my husband and he has told them - or he told someone, but now the background checks have flagged it up. It is not to work as a laywer but in IT. It was paid two years ago. Do you work in this area? He has not had a no yet but will be devastated if it is.

I have a ccj and work in a law firm. Its only solicitor's who have to have a clear check, not support staff. At least that is how it's worked in the firms I have worked in x

It will be up to the firm and their HR I would fully disclose and see what they do. I would be surprised if it is an issue but always best to fully disclose. Given its IT so stepped back from actual legal work I'd be very surprised if it was a problem.
Worth mentioning the SRA do have governance over support staff in law firms by the way - s43 non- authorised persons.
