Worried about failing probation period

I'm nearly at the end of my 3 month probationary period and I'm really worried about failing it.

My manager has been giving pretty good feedback to me. I frequently get shout outs in the department meetings. The only negative feedback I had was at my 6 week review my manager told me I need to communicate more with the team on the status of my projects, and that's something I have implemented and my manager has said she has noticed I am doing that more now.

I'm still worried. I'm mainly WFH and have found it hard to fit in with the team. I'm also very shy and reserved and struggle to speak up in meetings.

I just worry that I've let them down. :(

It sounds like you will be fine. Companies spend a lot of time and money recruiting and training employees. They are not going to fail you without good reason.

Sounds like you are doing well. They gave you feedback and you've taken that on board which they have acknowledged. Ask in your next one to one if there is more you can do.

Many people have found it difficult to make an impact when working remotely, especially when new in post so I don't think you should have concerns on that one.

After only a few weeks in a role you cannot be expected to be "all singing all dancing" in team meetings, you haven't been there long enough. In fact, it would be far more expected that you'd be 'watching and listening' and not taking over the meeting talking too much, if anything that could come across as quite annoying and counterproductive. Maybe aim to make one useful / relevant comment, at least that will show you're interested and engaged.

Thank you, I took your advice and asked in today's meeting with my manager and they said to just keep doing what I'm doing and that they have no concerns
