Help! I’m searching for work but the agencies they stress me out and ring non stop....it stresses me out...they are pushy!! I hate looking for work and dealing with recruiters...😞. I’d prefer to apply for what I see on the job sites ...they push and harangue you

What is it you hate about them? Just filter calls from unknown callers? They’re usually a necessary evil if you’re job hunting, unless you can find something direct. I try to build good relations with them and don’t mind getting their views on the market, etc.

A good few of them are dishonest too many missells....just to get you to go to an interview. Like telling you a role is a mix of wfh/office then at interview get told oh no it’s 5 days in office. So a waste of time and effort. Then they drop you if you don’t take a job offer ...no feedback on interviews they don’t pick up calls....they are necessary but I find it draining....listening to their bullshit ....

They’re a necessary evil and some are far better than others. If there are industry specific recruiters for your field they tend to yield better results, and most companies recognise this too

I've just started as a recruiter recruiting within a niche area. I agree some are terrible though but they shouldn't be pushy or lie. My company don't work this way thankfully. What I have learnt is that the client/company will tell us one thing, but the company will tell the candidate applying something else, so it's mostly out of our control. It sounds like you've jusy worked with some of the bad ones. Avoid the big name/countrywide agencies, look for smaller, more niche agencies.

I've been on the other side myself until recently and was getting calls from recruiters daily. I actually found it easier to find a job this way, I could upload my CV once and not have to waste my time applying for jobs that I would get ignored on. So definitely take advantage of the calls.

Make sure you check your CV against ATS tracking systems so your CV is coming up with the right keywords. Also in terms of your prefences, location/hours ect our systems don't always see this which is why you might get calls about stuff that isn't what you're looking for.
