Depending on where u are in the UK is to how 'high' 30k is seen. It's pretty low in the south east. So I'd expect a very good 9-5 Mon-Fri life.

@Wotsitsits

What are these mid to lower office jobs at 30k?!

I'm a mid to senior office worker on 35k for 0.8 FTE.

I've never seen a mid to lower job go for more than 28k Confused I've fought my arse off to get to the salary I have now.

Same! Those sort of jobs are £18-22k around here.

I suppose it depends where in the country you are, when I was not sure what I wanted to do career wise I was working in PA and receptionist roles in London for circa 25k, and that was 15 years ago now.

I earn £50k and have a very good work life balance. I plan my own diary, work flexibly, I work 37 hours a week but can work them when and how I want, I mostly WFH. I take the kids to school every day, and from the school gates twice a week. Since WFH it's been much easier to fit exercise etc into my diary. Never work weekends, very rarely work evenings unless I'm trying to build flex for a day off.

Civil service.
