What’s Nottingham like?

Hello all,

I’m thinking of applying for a job that I have my eye on in Nottingham. What is it like to live there as I’d have to relocate from Durham? Any areas to avoid? The job is at Queen’s Medical Centre if anyone is familiar with the hospital.

If you look at a map, it’s not a big city, the countryside is mostly close by especially if you are near the river or outskirts. If you choose a village you will likely be dependent on buses. The city is trying to get away from car commuting, in the current situation I would not choose to live too far from work. Maybe have a look along the tramline in the Hucknall/ Toton route. Tram is by far the best way to travel.

I worked at QMC many years ago, it was an unpleasant experience.

I also lived in Nottingham for years and don't miss it, I now live in a deprived area with a very poor reputation, but I feel safer and happier than when I lived in Notts.

There is a tram-link planned for QMC to city centre.

It already exists and has done for years now.
