I have an interview with an employer where I have worked before permanently and temporarily. The job is 10 minutes from my house and the staff are friendly. There will be a lot of work involved.

I am temping at another place which is a 40 minute drive. The manager keeps asking if I will change my mind about applying for the job as she likes me and my work. This job would pay 2k less. I get on well with the staff, it’s not too stressful and would miss the place. She said she would negotiate working from home and the office. I couldn’t commute everyday as the drive is a lot worse in the mornings and I feel very tired getting up early.

Should I see how the interview goes first and then if it doesn’t work out consider the further job?

Why did you leave the employer last time when you were permanent? Assuming it wasn't bad I'd go for the interview and see how you feel after. If you want to stay where you are you need to try and get a permanent offer and try and negotiate better terms.

But defo see how the interview goes first. You may hate the sound of the job or it may be exactly what you are after

I left the old employer as they had a restructure. I tried the new restructure job out but when 1/3 of the workforce had left it was very stressful so I went. The temp job I’m at, it sounds silly but I like that you are allowed the radio on and you can chat and laugh in the office. I haven’t had a job like that for 10 years. Only downside is they don’t get the Christmas break and are back in after 27th.
