Being asked to do a job on a higher salary

Hi, what would you do in this situation? I moved roles a few months ago with the agreement I would support my previous team for a few months until their knowledge is up to mine (I provided full training but it's the sort of job where new things will come up).

The 1st time I assisted the team, my previous director made negative and inaccurate comments about me to other managers. She wasn't there when I assisted and had misunderstood something.

A team on a lot higher salary has now asked if her team will do some work for them (due to being busy), She said yes and within 2 minutes contacted me asking if I will do it for them. Would you do the work she was asking? How would you tackle the situation? Thanks in advance.

Can your old team do it without you? How long are you meant to support them for? Not sure the salary has anything to do with it. Realistically you don’t have to do it. Not your team anymore. If you do it I would make sure you have clarity of what is needed (maybe a meeting with the requesting team manager) and state it is due to comments made last time you did them a similar favour.

I would mention your concerns to your current Director / LM. Maybe they can help you work out what level of assistance is reasonable in the circumstances.

Ask for overtime/remuneration pay for doing it or refuse to do it otherwise. Involve senior management involved and state the reasons (job description and higher salary) to them and refuse to do it otherwise.

If the pandemic has taught me anything it's not to work above your role or do overtime for free, because no matter where you work they can replace you in an instant.

Not quite following....
You were in team A, managed by director A. You're now in team B, managed by B but are providing some continued support to team A for a short period of time. Manager of team C (more skilled and paid?) has asked Director A if you can do some work for team C and she agreed?

If that's it then you need to email and politely remind A that you are no longer in her team and only providing training to her team on specific issues for a very short period of time. Copy in your manager.
