What is level 4 or above working in children's services?
I have a degree in education so what level do you think I would start at? Thanks

Depends what type of job do you need a social work degree? Level 4 IIRC is one of the higher ranks in social care or at least it was when I was working for youth services

Apparently for the job I have been offered, I am required to have a L4 to asses and contribute to reports that will feed into courts and at times appear in court.

Thats a bit difficult then. In the area I worked in they trained you in your levels. I had a degree, but still had to start off as a level 1 and undertake the national training for that job. My area manager was a level 4 which required you to have a degree as well.

I would contact them to check what they mean. If they have offered you the job and are aware of your qualifications then maybe your degree is the equivalent of a level 4.

It may be that they will be able to let you undertake any qualifications necessary whilst you do the job.

Hi gingerninger,
Sorry for the hijack of your post but I was wondering if you'd consider changing your name as I've been posting as Gingerninja for some time and I don't want there to be any confusion over who is who.

I've tried to CAT you and contact you on other threads before but don't think you're a regular poster so you probably haven't received the messages.

Thanks, hijack over.
