Hate my new job

I've done this to myself... I left a job I enjoyed and had a wfh contract because I was worried about job security. I had survived redundancy consultation last year and then they had lean specialists in looking at jobs again so an opportunity came up for an office job ...local...more money and on paper the job sounded amazing. However its such a toxic culture, directors screaming shout openly, staff cry I've been there short of 2 months I've seen 6 people resign and I've been on the receiving end of managers stress myself its toxic and insane. I'm already in discussion with agencies about leaving to take a 6 month contract with view to become permanent that's how bad this jobs makes me feel. I never temped for over 20 years so worried about me ending up with no work if I go down this route. The 6 month contract is hybrid working and I feel this will give my flexibility to job search at the same time as I'm temp instead of sitting in fear and miserable in my current job.
I know from experience its not a case of settling into my new role as I already know what I'm doing ..I just feel I cannot work in such a toxic atmosphere. Anyone left a new job so soon and anyone leave for temp work?
.

It sounds awful. Personally I wouldn't stay if I hated a job, life isn't worth it. In the past I have walked away from jobs I had only just started because I realised they were the wrong job for me.

Can you go back to your previous job? If not, start looking for something else and leave.

Yes, I realised on day 1 that it was a toxic place. Found a new job within 3 months. When asked why I was moving on so quickly, I said I'd realised very quickly that it just wasn't the right role for me. Wasn't a problem. It only looks bad if you are a serial job-hopper.

Yes I left one, ended badly. I had told them at 2 months I wouldn't be staying after the 3 month probation period. Then things changed and a friend offered me a temp job elsewhere and they got shitty with me when I said my circumstances had changed and wanted to give a weeks notice (as per my probation period) of my intention to leave. I ended up walking out on a Friday afternoon thinking OMG what have I done, but it was absolutely the right thing to do. You have to do what's best for you and clearly that's not staying there any longer than you have to.

I’ve left a job after 2 weeks -‘just went in and said I’m sorry it isn’t for me and there is no point me staying as you are
Still
Training me and it would be wrong of me to stay here and get paid and waste your time when I know I won’t be staying . It was fine they appreciated the honest and I was outta there!!

Thanks for your replies. I just took the temp job and left last week. This is the first situation I've ever been in like this. I feel I need therapy having gone through the whole awful time. I'm trying not yo best myself up as there's no way I could have known it was soon bad.
