I was told that my employment contract was terminated, but I resigned before this happened. Is this allowed?

@diddlydeedee you need to speak with ACAS this doesn't sound right...

I'm sorry that I don't have any advice in regards to your contract being terminated after you resigned but I wanted to say good on you for taking this move. People may raise an eyebrow with you handing in your notice after 8 weeks. I was in a very similar situation and handed in my notice after 5 weeks in a new position. Like you, I soon realised that the work place was very toxic with bullying of new staff and a very negative environment that had just become accepted to be the norm. It took a lot of courage to stand up to it and say that this was not right and that I wasn't prepared to be part of it. Good luck to you in the future. I hope you can move on to a more positive environment where you can be appreciated appropriately in your job.

What doesn't sound right?

@diddlydeedee has worked there for 8 weeks, so is entitled to 1 week's statutory notice. And that's what they're agreed to pay.

@daisychain01 I get that but she said she was fired after handing in her notice

Thank you littlemissnothernbird. It was awful because somebody used a close family member of mine having cancer, as a weapon to use against me. Sickening. They also said I wasn't open enough!

Yes belly it is weird that they terminated the contract after I resigned but they said they would pay me the notice. I think it was an ego thing. Two immediate predecessors were going to be sacked, but got wind of it and resigned. I don't think they could keep up with the work, do they cut corners and then we're going to be sacked for it.

The exit interview is with someone as equal toxic I would imagine, as there were only a couple of people who were nice. I probably should do one but I just want to run. My colleague said they'd sent email around essentially lying about why I left and said they had fully supported me. So there is no point as they have there mind made up.

Thank you for all your advice.
