I have given notice to this toxic company and toxic people and as I guessed the would be malicious.

I took today and yesterday off (during my notice period) as this job literally was making me ill.

I have been tricked in the latest phone call and I am kicking myself. The line manager obviously did not want me to come back tomorrow and to work my notice even though I said I was willing to. He said no don't work your notice and I'll get you paid for it, I'm just going to check with my manager. I thought it was odd that he was kind of insistent that I not work my notice and had a feeling he would misrepresent what I had said.

Anyway he has obviously told finance and the boss that I do not want to work my notice and this liar tried to call me. I said please email me. So he sent me an email saying that I owe the company money and they don't pay sick pay and I have barely accrued any holiday. He said finance will be sending a letter.

What should I do now? He has done this to be vindictive, as apparently he was deeply hurt that I have handed in my notice. It's business not personal and I have been treated very poorly.

Please help. I need to act fast!

Write to the boss and to finance, explaining what happened and saying that of course you are fully prepared to serve your notice and expect to be paid accordingly.

Thank you so much Flowery.

I am feeling a lot of anxiety as this company seems VERY vindictive. The main boss is also very vindictive and was implying to my colleague that I was going to make off with the mobile work equipment and saying they are deeply hurt that I resigned. I'm leaving because it is toxic.

I am wondering if there are any other ways I need to cover myself and what else they might do to me. But thank you for replying.

I've just responded on your other thread on the same subject.

They just need to pay 1 week's statutory notice period as you've worked there for such a short time. Do you have any suspicion they won't pay?
