Terms and Conditions - Management Buy-Out

Hopefully a quick one! The company dh works for has been bought under a management buy-out, so technically he has changed employer as I understand it (even though for the moment they're trading under the same name). He asked whether his terms and conditions would change and was told verbally no. But shouln't he have a new set of terms and conditions in writing? He's on 3 months notice with his orignal ones, and has another job so wants to know if he can claim his existing T & Cs are no longer valid so he can leave earlier than 3 months!

TIA

Titchy his t&cs will stay the same, see here. He should get an updated written statement confirming his new employer and confirming that his terms and conditions are unchanged.

If he wants to leave anyway, just as an aside, there will be little his employers will be able to do if he doesn't work his 3 months' notice. If he gets a new job and hands in his notice but says his new employers want him to start in, say, a month, his current employers won't be able to do much about it. Technically they could sue him for breach of contract but this is virtually never a realistic option, expensive and not worth it for a couple of months work.
