I am feeling really annoyed right now so just need to know if I am making a big fuss or not.
On Friday I picked up my dd from nursery(she is 13mnths) but forogt to check that her beakers were in her bag. Got home but was too tired to go back and get them. We had enough spare ones so I thought I'd just pick them up today. Then ths morning dropped her off and as usual went to put the beakers in the fridge(there is one for three or fours rooms so its outside their actual base room if you see what i mean)
I saw her beakers from Friday and picked them up but they were both full( 1 water and the other milk) So what did she drink on Friday. Her care leader was not there yet so I am going to call in a bit to find out more. But this is the second time they have forogtten her milk. The other time did not matter as I was picking her up early so she had it when I took her out. But she was there all day on Friday so I just feel so uneasy about the whole thing.

what should I do.

Hi Carameli,
DS is 14 months, but I think at our babies age, milk intake is a very personal thing. You know how much milk you like your DD to have and when so I can't really comment on that.

However, I would be very concerned if I thought DS hadn't had any fluids during the day. At DS's nursery they give drinks throughout the day and make a note of what they have, when and how much they drink. IMHO you have every right to be uneasy. You should not have to wait for the 'care leader' there must surely be a record of what each child has during the day. I would call and ask to speak to the head of her base room, or the manager.

You are entitled to know this so don't be shy about asking for this info

hi, well I spoke with the room leader this morning and she was very apologetic. She is new to the room and promised that it would not happen again. She said that they had been drinking water with during the day. But I made my point that I wanted to make sure she had her afternoon drink of milk so I'll see how it goes today.
I am really happy with this room leader apart from this as she is great with dd, really warm and friendly with the kids. When I arrive she is always cuddling one of them so i am just going to take it as a mistake and keep an eye on what happens from now.

bunnyrabbit, where does your ds go to nursery? You say they detail exactly what they have drunk, mine did this until they moved rooms when they turned 1, now they just give details about food etc they have eaten. CAT me if you don't want to mention sutff here but I would be interested. thanks

Hiyah,
Happy to share info. DS is at a Leapfrog. They're a chain, so I suppose it depends on the individual management, but the staff are just lovely. DS is in first steps ( 12 - 18 months) and I get a report sheet everyday detailing:

Activities - Singing, sand play, puzzles etc
Nappies - What times and what type (soiled or wet)
Food - e.g. Breakfast and how much they've eaten (All - Most - Some - A Little - None - Second helping)
Drink - What, when and how much ( as above)
Sleep - When and for how long

I think that's it... they also note if he has had any accidents, been given any medicine (which you have to sign in anyway) or they're running out of anything.

I think it's just as important to know how much they've drunk, as how much they've eaten. Do the nursery only use the filled beaker you supply? If yes, then I suppose it's pretty easy to know what your what your DD has drunk. If not, then if this is the second time they've forgotten her milk, I don't think it would be unfair to ask them to note this for you.

If you want to know anything else just give me a shout.
