Advice needed from an NHS manager or NHS HR person please!

Long story, trying to keep it short!
I'm due to leave NHS admin role next week as I've found new job (non NHS) closer to home. Agreed start date etc with new job.
Meanwhile, I've just an email inviting me to interview for a different admin job (very close to home) with the same NHS Trust I'm leaving next week! Different teams/departments, but same trust.
Anyone in the NHS have any experience of leaving a Trust, then rejoining it shortly afterwards?
The interviewer for this NHS interview will think I'm still employed in the Trust as it was 6 weeks ago when I applied (and having secured the external job or handed my notice in at that point).
Will they be put off if it comes out in interview that I've recently left but want to rejoin the Trust?
Leaving current role next Friday, interview is in 2 weeks' time.
Advice needed please!

Given that your reason for leaving was location, you can present it as "would have loved to stay in the trust but the travel was problematic, so this new role in the trust at a different location would give me the best of all worlds" and just show your enthusiasm for the trust at interview.

My recollection is a bit hazy but I think re-joining an NHS employer within 3 months doesn't count as a break in service. Since you still work there at the moment, check out the policies on the intranet about continuous service and that should tell you Smile

Shouldn't make any difference as when rejoining the NHS previous service is counted by use of a reckonable date in the contract. The only aspect I'm not totally sure about is pay increments but I'm pretty certain you would retain unless it is a higher grade
