Different types of care work

Looking at a career change when kids are at school but I know as much as I love the idea that nursing is not for me with the shift work and my vomit phobia!

Are there different types of care work/nursing that do still involve patient care but perhaps with more standardised hours? One person for example said she didnt have to do much shift work/bank holidays etc working on a surgery unit as surgery mainly is scheduled at normal times? I wasn't sure if there are any other clinics or ideas anyone had that would be suitable for someone starting out?

Once qualified, there are hundreds of different nursing roles you can move in to, but, if I've read it right (?) you aren't yet a nurse and you are thinking about training? In which case, you'd have to accept all the different wards you are sent on to during your training, and then probably get further experience before applying for other roles.

There are roles such as Operating Theatre Practitioner which you can train for separately.

Or other careers such as something like physio or OT or SLT. Or things like play therapists.

Or of course carers either in peoples homes or in care homes, although they don't tend to be office hour type roles and might well involve body fluids.

Or there are roles like maternity assistants or SaLT assistants or HV assistants which you don't need as high qualifications for, but then the pay reflects that too.
