Hi,

I'm self employed, selling various baked goods. I've done really well selling postal bakes over lockdown and looking to sell on more channels.

I know NOTHS get lots of traffic, does anyone here sell with them/ buy from them?
I know it's really hard to get on, but thought I'd ask before applying. They charge a lot for commission too I've seen.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve bought a few things from there, a few themed gifts, but it is always so expensive (I guess the commission explains it)

@runningfrominsanity thank you so much for answering. I've bought from there too mainly for gifts.
Hmm, I suppose there would have to be a huge markup to compensate the commission.

I do, I’ve made fairly good money in the past but only to subsidise another income, not enough to live on. People do make a living from it but you have to work really hard to be found and stand out as there is so much on there these days. Commission is high but you do get good support and the benefit of their SEO plus it’s a recognised and trusted place to sell so customers like that.

I often look on NOTHS for ideas/ inspiration but then see if the seller has their own website/ Instagram page and then order direct as the price is often better and I feel it is better for the seller too.

Thank you @RockstarMartini that's good to know.
Well done to you for getting on as so many people I know have been rejected. I know the site is really curated.

@Betterfly I think that's lovely that you by direct from the seller. And it's a good shout thar you look on there for ideas too.

I have done, but mainly jewellery etc. It wouldn't occur to me to look on there for baked goods. One thing that does get my attention though is when I see videos of cakes being made - do you post much on social media?

BiBabbles · 14/07/2021 08:42

I think I have bought from there a couple of times when it's come up in a google search, but more recently I've more used Facebook (local groups - ended up ordering a birthday cake months in advanced because an ad for one popped up and my DD squealed), eBay and etsy.
