About to start in a new very senior role and want to update my wardrobe (will give me a confidence boost). I prefer dress and jacket and feel more suited to fit a flare shape than bodycon (I'm a petite curvy size 10). Any ideas?

Hobbs used to be really good, but the quality of their suits has gone down hill a bit, but worth trawling the website for fit and flare dresses and they still do a couple of nice suit jackets.

Depending on your budget, Cefinn (Sam Cam’s brand) does some great work dresses.

Damsel in a Dress has some good bits, but like Hobbs, you have to trawl through a lot to find them. COS is good for unusual pieces but not necessarily “flattering”.

The Corporate look is fairly dated now - even amongst Senior Managers...I wouldn't go down the route of investing too much cash - looking out of step with the company dress culture won't give you much of a confidence boost.

I'm in a profession which hasn't really moved with the times on this one and corporate still very much the expectation

I think a dress and jacket combo is very hard to pull off stylishly - looks a bit better if it's a suit, I often think it looks awful and dare I say a bit cheap and old fashioned. I'd go for a long sleeved dress in a natural fabric and good quality coat - trench for summer and wool tailored for winter - forget the jacket.
You might find more specific help in style and beauty rather than work.

Whats the expectation re home working etc. What pieces do you currently have?
