Career change ideas

Does anybody have any ideas for relatively easy career changes that earn at least ok? I have been in facilities coordination roles but I am finding it so boring so I'm just not good at it. I have suspected adhd (currently going through assessment) so I find it hard to concentrate if things are particularly tedious and need a bit of variety.

I have a humanities undergraduate from a good university as a base and would be willing to do a masters etc. but I don't have a great deal of freely available cash.

Definite relatively easy.

Definite ‘at least ok’.

but I don't have a great deal of freely available cash

How much freely available cash do you have to put towards training?

If you want a job that needs a cheap one-year Masters to allow you to access a £35k career, I think you might be disappointed! If there was one, thousands of pissed
off teachers and NHS staff would be doing it already, for starters Grin

That should be define, not definite!

From a facilities coordination role, I would imagine you will have lots of transferable skills around organisation, customer service etc. There would be plenty jobs in different sectors that you could apply for with those skills.

Do you have an idea of what you want to do or what sector you want to work in? What level of salary are you looking for?

The thing is I feel I'm a bit rubbish with anything that gets repetative as I lose concentration. I'm quite interested in mental health, nutrition, heritage sector generally. I'm fairly creative. I don't need to be paid loads, just enough to live off really similar to what I'm on atm so mid 20's? If it's got progression opportunities the better. I don't mind a change taking a couple of years provided I can earn enough to live off in the interim.

how about customer service? I recommend going on to indeed website and uploading your CV their brilliant I've got my CV on their website and the recruiters are very responsive normally. once you have created an account with , them your be able to upload your CV type in what your looking for and your location and it will find relevant Jobs in your area.

Have a look into marketing. Lots of variety and the chance to be creative. You could probably get an entry level job paying £20-£25k with the ability to progress quickly with the right skill set. CIM courses cost about £5k and you can study alongside working (in fact it’s encouraged!)… if you find a good employer the may even pay for or contribute towards the training.

Upskill. Think if a few things you’d like to be able to do that would work in your fields of interest (nutrition qualification, museum studies, arts marketing) and there are loads of free resources. If you prefer to be taught rather than self-learning, see what schemes there are That are affordable. If you like messing around and learning by yourself, look at LinkedIn learning, Udemy, YouTube videos. If you can identify a couple of roles you’d like to do, see what qualifications people in that field have (look up their LinkedIn, even connect with them - I find people are pretty receptive to being asked for advice or guidance.)

Have a chat with a recruiter?

I'm looking for a change in career. I'm currently a business manager with 15 years customer experience and I don't know what to try any ideas guys please?

horselover1987 · 04/07/2021 00:38

I would be no good in the finance department or call center. due to my credit history. I wont be able to find anything that matches my very high salary. working in a hotel is not my thing all the hustle and bustle not much quite time to yourself if I'm brutally honest. I'd be better off in the customer service sector or retail. any Suggestions are helpful, thanks.
