I've posted before so please don't point this out.Im so stressed.
Recently I've been struggling mentally and became severely depressed for about 5 weeks.
I dreaded going back to my toxic workplace.
Anyway recently my boss has been banging on about people that are a position less that mine .
Now a 19 year old is saying the same thing.
About incompetent people etc etc.
I'm a 50 something women.
It is clear that after work drinks are slagging me off to each other rather than address any issues with me.
On of my work colleagues and I have worked together around 15 yrs in various places, even he has started borderline bullying me and calling me weird as I'm the only much older member that is a married homeowner and they are all single young guys.
I've spoken to Acas and although I had an interview yesterday in my break I still feel broken by the childish unprofessional treatment.
I have no one to confide in as all the others are in the clique.
Last week they video's the kp saying my shortbread was shit and sent it on my day off.
Any advise on how to deal with this.

How much notice to you need to give?

I would consider giving it today as you will get another job!

So sorry that they are bullying you it's so horrid Thanks

I totally agree with this. If you can afford to leave now, I would. Life is too short to put up with this crap. You'll find a new job in hospitality where you're appreciated.
DismantledKing · 30/06/2021 17:29

I really wish you luck with the applications for the new job. The current place sounds awful.

whatisforteamum · 30/06/2021 17:41

The notice period is 3 weeks, however I hope they would back off if I was leaving or I could go sick which is a last resort as I have a great absence record .

I keep thinking I'm imagining the way they treat me.Ive worked for many other people who haven't made me feel so bad though and I know what they have done to others and heard them reaĺly slag them off.

Well I feel worse now.🤣
I went to the new trial and was doing ok.
The owner snapped at me about the oven temp then realised it was his mistake then I overheard something about me which I think was I talk a lot.
Tbh I don't want to go where I have to work in silence. All the kitchens I worked in have been noisy chatty places.
My confidence is in my boots now although I hope this is a blip.

No! Don't be downhearted. Keep looking. There really are a lot of kitchen vacancies at the moment. You'll find the right fit.

InaccurateDream · 01/07/2021 18:19

It sounded awful OP. I would keep going and somewhere like a kitchen the people are really important so if you don't like eg the trial one, just find another. They're crying out for staff right now.

whatisforteamum · 01/07/2021 19:23

Foolishly I turned down 2 in lockdown!! Said I had a great Cv.
Tbh the trial guy was partly at fault. He gave me to a junior who I asked a couple of questions too.
He said follow the recipe.!! Which is open to interpretation.
The made some desserts and followed the recipe all good. There was a query over the oven temp which was sorted then I got a bad response about how long I was cooking the item for before the boss realised he had accidently forgotten to reset the timer and admitted as such.
I did point out at the debrief recipes can be open to interpretation which he agreed.
Thank u all soo Much I cannot explain how crushed I feel.
I've always gone from job to job with no issues whatsoever.
With little RL support I appreciate the virtual support of MN. 😙

@PegasusReturns

Have you posted about this before? It sounds very familiar.

It’s not really clear what is actually going on. You mention a video where you were insulted: who made it and to whom was it circulated? How did you come to learn about it?

That’s probably a good straying point for a complaint to HR.

Literally the first sentence of the OP says she posted before 🙄
daisychain01 · 22/07/2021 13:35

@walkoflifewoohoo

"Have you posted about this before?"

Jeez

I think that point has been made already, numerous times. Have you read the thread?

It's akin to "cancel the cheque"
"Go to [non-existent] HR".

OP this situation in your workplace is damaging your MH, so your best bet is to get another job, because your health is the most precious thing of all. Don't stick around and put up with all that crap, it's never going to get any better.

whatisforteamum · 23/07/2021 20:26

Perhaps you are right.
