How would you spin this weakness into a strenght?

So, I'm a project-starter. I get so much joy from learning skills, starting projects and generating ideas but... then I get bored of those, and start learning new skills, start new projects and generate new ideas....

I'm looking for a new job, and am trying to find a way to sell myself as a project starter. I know that I'll never finish a project, and I don't want to change who I am - I need a job that compliments my personality, or I'll be unhappy executing projects that I have no interest in.

How would you spin this into a positive for a job interview when many businesses ask for project-finishers. I want to be open and honest so I find the right job but without saying "I'LL NEVER FINISH ANYTHING" haahaha

Something about generating ideas and launching teams.

If you can’t finish anything off though not sure that projects is for you. Maybe more consultancy and writing plans?

What are your strengths? If being methodical is a weakness what strengths to you pull on to finish a piece of work?

You could think about it in terms of Belbin Teams Styles? The different roles all fit together and complement each other, and describe ‘allowable weaknesses’ you should expect alongside someone’s strengths.

Sounds like you’re definitely not a Completer-Finisher! Maybe a Resource Investigator?

Here’s the official site but I’m sure you can find more online if this sounds helpful: www.belbin.com/about/belbin-team-roles

I'm a bit like this! I've had loads of experience of doing project work but due to my pay grade it then it never finishes at my end or it gets passed over to another department so I rarely get to the see the outcomes. CV and application advice is to show the outcomes or successes of projects and I'm never able to.
Ive been thinking about how to word it too, and I was thinking of going down the 'proactive' in streamlining processes and escalating ways for improvement. Something like that. Not sure if that works for you, or if it's even any good.

Could you spin it as something like...

"I am so creative and have loads of amazing ideas. I really enjoy the hard work involved in getting a project up and running, and then I can let everyone else do their bit to keep the project going. Then I can start all over again.

"I am more of a go-getter than someone who likes to work on the same thing for a long period of time. I like to be constantly coming up with new ideas and being full-on/completely focused on getting things going, to make it easier for others."

Sort of thing? Also, YY to the Resource Investiagator thing. I can see many positives to having someone like you on board in a project, so it's not really a weakness!

Creative, attention to detail, like to get to the root cause of an issue, identifier, problem solver, instigator, fresh eyes/ horizon view, motivator, influencer, change manager, risk taker, challenger of the status who, makes things (start to) happen.
Anything but a blue sky thinker who thinks outside the box while pushing an envelope !
